Smart Beacon SDK
Blecon provides libraries and an SDK for integrating Smart Beacon technology in to new or existing firmware projects. In many cases, the SDK can run on existing Bluetooth hardware and operate alongside your current Bluetooth peripheral applications, adding pairing-free cloud connectivity along with secure identity, location, and time services.
The Smart Beacon SDK currently supports Nordic Semiconductor's nRF52, nRF53, nRF54L and nRF54H MCUs, with compatibility for both nRF Connect SDK and Zephyr. We also support the InPlay IN100 and InPlay IN120 for Basic Beacons, as well as a range of other BLE MCUs.
Smart Beacon Firmware
Blecon provides complete firmware images to enable a standard Bluetooth Low Energy SoC as secure Smart Beacons or Bluetooth IoT Cloud Connectivity Modems. These firmware images include:
- Secure identity, communication, global location and synchronised time
- Built-in beacon applications and sensor interfaces
- A simple UART API
The Smart Beacon Firmware is currently available for Nordic Semiconductor's nRF52 and nRF54L MCUs. Firmware can also be customised to meet specific customer requirements.
Smart Beacon Silicon
The primary silicon platforms supported by the Blecon Firmware and SDK are Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF52, nRF53, nRF54L and nRF54H MCUs, compatible with both the nRF Connect SDK and Zephyr RTOS. Blecon also supports additional BLE MCUs and SDKs.
For ultra-low-cost Basic Beacon applications, the InPlay IN100 and InPlay IN120 are also fully supported.

Smart Beacon Modules
Nordic Bluetooth chipsets are also available in pre-certified modules, such as the Ezurio BL54L15µ, which further simplify Smart Beacon hardware design and integration.
The Ezurio BL54L15µ is a compact, fully supported module within the Blecon ecosystem, with evaluation kits available for developers.
